Glenn Fossell, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 82.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 5, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Michael Briggs officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Glenn August Fossell was born November 25, 1919 at Hallock, MN the son of Willie and Marie (Clauson) Fossell. He was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Stephen, MN June 30, 1933. Glenn attended rural schools in Enoch and Augsburg Township, Kittson County, MN and received his GED when he was 54 years old. He was united in marriage with Temple Arneson October 5, 1941 at Salem Lutheran Church in Stephen, MN. They lived in Kennedy, MN until 1951 when they moved to Cyrus and then moved to Montevideo in 1954. Glenn did construction work until retiring in 1984. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Cooties and Forty and Eight and served on the Planning Commission for the City of Montevideo. Glenn was active in Boy Scouts for 25 years, he enjoyed woodworking and furniture refinishing, and he loved to hunt. He was a hard worker who loved his family and took a special interest in his children.
He is survived by his wife, Temple; four children: Marlys Fossell of Montevideo, MN, Sharon Brown and her husband Woody of Bloomington, MN, Thomas Fossell and his wife Jacque of Montevideo, MN, and Kevin Fossell of Montevideo, MN; six grandchildren: Kelly (Paul) Butkowski, Matt Brown, and Nathan, Jeremy, Adam and Kane Fossell; two great-granddaughters: Brooke and Tara Butkowski; and one sister, Roscella Dahl of Minneapolis, MN.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Lucy Walz; and two brothers: Randolph Fossell and his twin Lawrence Fossell.
