Gloria Bright, of Montevideo, died on Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Chippewa Co-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 86. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Tim Wheatley officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Gloria Helen (Schrapp) Bright was born on May 11, 1925, in Montevideo, MN, the oldest of four children, to Henry and Mamie (Miller) Schrapp. She grew up in Montevideo, was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1943. On April 22, 1944 she was united in marriage to Gordon Bright at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. In addition to being a busy homemaker, she worked for many years at the Montevideo Reminder. Many will remember her for her talent as a seamstress, her delectable culinary skills and her tireless dedication to her work and her family. She was adventurous and always enjoyed a challenge. She loved to travel, spend time at the lake and spend time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Gordy; three children: Bob (and Bonnie) Bright of Mankato, MN; Rick (and May) Bright of Huntsville, AL; and Kim (and Brad) Olsen of San Antonio, TX; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a brother Wes (and Eleanor) Schrapp of Montevideo. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Shirley Johnson and a brother, Lyle Schrapp.
