Glorietta (Gulden) Gilbertson was born in Montevideo on October 31, 1927 to Lloyd and Florence (Schall) Gulden. She grew up in Montevideo and attended Montevideo High School graduating in 1945. Following high school she worked at Montgomery Ward in Montevideo and when Harris returned from active duty they were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church on February 16, 1947. They had three boys together: Gary, Tom and Tim. When Tom and Tim started high school Glorietta went to work at Brookside Manor in Montevideo as a cook. She worked from 1966 to 2010, retiring when she was 83. Following Harris’ death in 1990 Glorietta remained living on the farm until December of 2020.
Glorietta was a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed being at home and was known for keeping a very neat and orderly house. Glorietta also enjoyed being with the residents and other staff at Brookside Manor. Her hobbies included crocheting and going on an occasional outing to the casino with friends. But most of all, Glorietta was a wonderful caregiver to her family. She loved to bake and would not take “no” for an answer to taste her treats. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren always looked forward to her ham sandwiches that she served along with her treats.
Glorietta is survived by her son: Tim Gilbertson; grandchildren: Stacey (Jeremy) Enevoldsen, Matt (Miranda) Gilbertson, Shane (Shelly) Gilbertson, Brett (Peggy) Gilbertson, Crystal (Jeff) Feuerhelm, Drew (Lori) Gilbertson; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Abby & Levi Enevoldsen, Parker Gilbertson, Hunter (Joe) Mitlyng & Levi Glbertson, Devin (MacKenzie), Cody, & Sienna Gilbertson, Isabelle, Natalie & Allan Feuerhelm, Austyn Gilbertson; great-great grandchildren: Louie Mitlyng, Thomas and LilliAnne Gilbertson; daughter-in-law, Holly Gilbertson; brothers: Lloyd (Goldy) Gulden Jr., Clarkfield, Paul (Joy) Gulden, California; sister: Patricia (Jerry) Jones, California; as well as other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harris; sons: Gary and Tom; daughter-in-law, Jody Gilbertson; and a sister Lorraine Christenson.
