Gordon Enevoldsen, 87, of Montevideo, died December 29, 1999 at his home in Montevideo.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 3, 2000 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.  Rev. Warren Broughton  officiated and interment was at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo.

Gordon Enevoldsen was born February 4, 1912 in Lac Qui Parle County, MN the son of Peter and Bertha (Ericksen) Enevoldsen.  He was baptized March 31, 1912 at St. Petri Lutheran Church, confirmed April 5, 1926 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and attended rural schools.  He was united in marriage with Alice Vogt March 15, 1942.  They farmed in Lac Qui Parle County before he retired and moved to Montevideo in 1976.  Alice died November 10, 1971.  Gordon was united in marriage with Alice Nelson November 11, 1978 at Sioux Falls, SD.  She died August 24, 1982.  Gordon tried retirement but decided he liked farming better and started farming again.  He enjoyed his garden, his grandchildren, playing cards with family and friends and having coffee with friends at Trailways.  He was a lifelong member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church where he served as an usher.  He faithfully got his girls to church, Sunday School, and confirmation.

He is survived by his two daughters: Shirley Christenson and her husband Ross of Montevideo, MN and Arlene Enevoldsen of Montevideo, MN; four grandchildren: Kirby and Tracy Kocher, Jason Stewig, and Karlene (Jason) Wog; three great-grandchildren: David, Andrew and Cherish Kocher; and four brothers: Palmer (Viola) Enevoldsen of Montevideo, MN, Alf Enevoldsen of Montevideo, MN, August Enevoldsen of Waseca, MN, and Preston (Phyllis) Enevoldsen of Montevideo, MN as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Alice; his second wife, Alice; one sister, Rena  Falk and her husband Ernest; three brothers: Gustav  Enevoldsen and his wife Mamie, Louis Enevoldsen and his wife Ruth, and Morris Enevoldsen and his wife Clara; and two sisters-in-law: Cora Enevoldsen and Marilyn Enevoldsen.
