Gordon Sederstrom

November 26, 1918 — September 17, 1993

Gordon Sederstrom, 74, of Montevideo died September 17, 1993 at his home after suffering with cancer since 1985.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 20 at 2:00 P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Norman Aronson will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home and at the church for one hour before services on Monday.

Gordon R. Sederstrom was born November 26, 1918 near Montevideo the son of Alfred and Helen (Ringsby) Sederstrom.  He attended District #16, graduated from Montevideo Senior High in 1937 and later attended Augsburg College.  He was united in marriage with Vivian Miller April 10, 1954 at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  They made their home in Sparta Township, Chippewa County where he farmed and was a Pioneer Seed Salesman until retiring in 1983.  Gordon served as President of the Chippewa County Farmers Union, served on the Minnesota State Board for Farmers Union, the Minnesota National Guard for 5 years, served as a Boy Scout Leader, and was active at Salem Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council, taught Sunday School, was President of the Men's Club, and participated in other church activities.

He is survived by his wife Vivian; two sons: Scott and his wife Linda of Hutchinson, MN and Mark and his wife Terre of Mesa, AZ; one daughter, Susan Schwanekamp of Duluth, MN; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Opjorden of Montevideo; and two sisters-in-law: Evelyn Sederstrom and Archie Sederstrom both of Montevideo.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers: Clifford and Harward.
