Grace Agre, of Dawson, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson at the age of 76.
Funeral services was Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 1:00 PM, at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with Pastor Kathleen Soldwisch (Borgund Lutheran Church) officiating. Ardyce Thompson was the pianist who accompanied the singing of “O Savior, Precious Savior”, “Amazing Grace”, “The King of Love, My Shepherd Is” and “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” and Janell Kemen as the soloist singing “In the Garden” and “Softly and Tenderly.”
Visitation was Friday from 5-7:00 PM, at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.
Grace Marie (Storlien) Agre was born July 16, 1936, in Dawson, the daughter of John and Amanda (Arneson) Storlien. She attended school and grew to adulthood in Dawson. Grace was united in marriage with Marvin Agre on October 31, 1954, at Grace Lutheran Church. They moved to the Cities in 1964 and Grace worked as a machinist for Hub Manufacturing for 40 years. They returned to Dawson in 1998, where she worked at Nicky’s Grocery. She enjoyed playing cards and other games, camping, cooking, fishing, and watching her sons rodeo. She loved having family and friends around to visit.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin; three children: Ken (Coreen) Agre of Shafer, MN, Jim (Carrie) Agre of Palmer, AK, and Teresa (Scott) Askins of Cambridge, MN; seven grandchildren: Kohl, Kallie, Korah, Luke (Jamie) Jeremy (Leslie) Paul (Spring) and Letty (Matt); eight great-grandchildren: Kelena, Karis, Kenedie, Kacie, Rowen, Malaki, Michael, and Javis; three brothers: Orgean (Marion) Storlien of Dawson, MN, Stanley Storlien of Dawson, MN and Stanford “Bummy” (Agnes) Storlien of Dawson, MN; two sisters-in-law: Mona Storlien of Montevideo, MN and Shirley Storlien of Dawson, MN.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers: Milton Storlien and Selmer Storlien; and two sisters: Alice (Delmer) Ulrich and Evelyn Storlien.
