Grace Olson, of Milan, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Appleton Nursing Home at the age of 90.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 5:00 PM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan. Rev. Kristine Isder will officiate and interment will be at the Kviteseid Lutheran - Milan Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Kviteseid Lutheran Church from 3-5:00 PM on Sunday with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Grace Adele (Sundgaard) Olson was born June 17, 1924 in Kragero Township, Chippewa County, MN the daughter of Amos and Ida (Anderson) Sundgaard. She was blessed as an infant and confirmed at Milan Methodist Church in 1936 by Rev. Peterson. As an adult she was baptized at Kviteseid Lutheran Church by Rev. Wayne Anderson. She attended country school in District #52 thru 8th grade and graduated from West Central School of Agriculture in Morris. After graduation, she was a hired girl that helped young mothers with their families and housework. Grace was united in marriage with John “Buddy” O. Olson, Jr. on June 11, 1944 at Milan Methodist Church. They enjoyed 47 years of life together and raised 4 children. She was a lifelong member of the Milan Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Ladies Aid. When it closed she joined Kviteseid Lutheran Church. Faith was very important to her as she rarely missed daily devotions. She enjoyed homemakers club, quilt club, sewing, good home cooked food, being by the water and dancing with Buddy. Grace was a devoted wife and mother. She dearly loved and enjoyed "being in the know" about her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Bradley Olson of Milan, MN; three daughters: Patricia (Lloyd) Schmidt of Brownton, MN, Marcia Myhre of Pewaukee, WI, and Beverly (Don) Lien of Montevideo, MN; ten grandchildren: Jennifer (Larry Fisher) Schmidt, Julie (Jon) Tofte, Jason (Leslie) Schmidt, Ryan (Holly) Myhre, Daniel (Stefani) Myhre, Heather (Wyatt) Weckwerth, Jeff (Bobbi Jo) Olson, Brendan Lien and special friend Trisha Hering, Carrie (David) Johansson, and Kelly (Travis) DeGrote; great grandchildren: Matthew, Brandon, Nathan, Katelyn, Hannah, Ryan Jr., Aden, Cole, Laina, Soren, Maren, Gillian, Dalton, Berlyn, Isaac, Ellie and Allie; step-great grandchildren: Cody, Lindsey, Zach and Justin; step-great great grandchildren: Cole, Katelyn, Lillie; brother, Jerome (Roma) Sundgaard; sisters-in-law: Florence Pritz, Marguerite Gates, and Ina Olson; brothers-in-law: Robert (Norma) Olson and Samuel Commons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Buddy in 1991; sister: Jeanette (Bill) Fletcher; sisters-in-law: Lucille (Dennis) Anderson and Helen Commons; brothers-in-law: Lawrence Olson, Eldon Pritz and Benton Gates.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be given to the Salvation Army.
