Gust Adolph Krause

Gust Krause, 88, of Montevideo died March 19, 1997 at the Clara City Nursing Home.

Funeral services was held Saturday, March 22, 1997 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo.  Rev. Richard Hamlow  officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.

Gustav Adolph Krause was born January 29, 1909 in South Dakota the son of William and Martha (Zeisemer) Krause.  He attended parochial school.  Gust was united in marriage with Esther Jensen June 17, 1944 at Watertown, SD.  They farmed near Montevideo in Sparta Township.  Gust moved to the Clara City Nursing Home in 1988.

He is survived by four nieces and nephews: Eleanor and Wesley Schrapp of Montevideo, MN; Ernest and Shirley Lehmann of Elgin, IL; Jerry Winters of Astoria, OR; and Ruth and Randy Flaig of Hutchinson, MN and one sister-in-law - Minnie Krause of Hutchinson, MN.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Esther, January 29, 1973;  twelve brothers and sisters: Albert Krause, Anna Lehmann, Frieda Halvorson, Emma Kaupang, Alma Johanson, Henry Krause, Sarah Winters, and William Krause and four brothers and sisters in infancy; and a niece - Mary Kleinschmidt.
