Gustav Julian Swenson was born on April 14, 1908 in North Dakota to Hans J. and Josephine Swenson. He was baptized on 1908 in North Dakota and confirmed in 1924 at Jevnaker Lutheran Church. He attended rural schools. He worked for a couple of years in Guam on construction before returning to Chippewa Co. and farming for many
years. He retired from farming in 1970 and moved into Montevideo. He has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home the past 5 years.
Gust died on Thursday June 2 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 86. He is survived by brothers - Oscar Swenson of Montevideo and Ted Swenson of Danvers, Mn.; by sisters - Sylvia Tengval of St. Paul, Mn.; and Bernetta Velde of Montevideo; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by brothers - John, Harry, and Martin Swenson, as well as by sisters - Gertie Brooks and Hazel Bjornjeld.
