Hannah Cordingley, of Montevideo, died on Monday October 14, 1996 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 88.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday October 17 at 1:30 PM at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Sparta Township with Rev. Richard Hamlow officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Hannah (Smith) Cordingley was born on March 7, 1908 in Sparta Township of Chippewa Co., MN to Lewis and Minnie (Weckwerth) Smith She was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1927. On October 30, 1932 she was united in marriage to Clair Cordingley at St. Johns Lutheran. She was a lifelong resident of the Montevideo area. She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past 5 years. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, where she had been active in women's groups, taught Sunday School and was a member of the over 60's club, and had been a 4H leader and a member of a homemakers club.
She is survived by a son - Kenneth Cordingley and his wife Ruth of Aberdeen, SD; a daughter - Mary Ellen Anderson and her husband Orville of Hanley Falls, MN; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clair in 1971, and by a brother and sister in infancy.
