Harlan Leon Jordahl was born January 21, 1926, in Riverside Township, Lac qui Parle County, MN to John T. and Raldie (Rasmussen) Jordahl.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson.  Harlan attended school in District 14 and served in the US Army during WWII.  He was united in marriage with Bernice Anderson on October 6, 1948, at the parsonage of Trinity Lutheran in Boyd.  Harlan worked at Dawson Mills for 25 years, many as the chief maintenance man.  He also had a shop in his garage where he did body work.  Harlan was the ultimate handyman and jack-of-all-trades; he spent much of his free time helping his family with their projects and everything was always done to perfection.  Hockey, as he was known to those closest to him, enjoyed traveling with his wife, making many trips to Norway; the visits from Norwegian family were also very special to him. He loved hunting and fishing with his family and extended family. His family and friends were very important to him, and he and Bernie never failed to attend any gathering. Hockey thoroughly enjoyed following his grandchildren's school and sports activities, especially keeping him busy after the loss of his wife. His great-grandchildren also gave him much joy; his quiet manner and gentle nature, often accompanied with soothing singing, calmed many a grandchild or great-grandchild.

He is survived by his children: Gary (Barb) Jordahl of Montevideo and Janice (Charles) Prestholdt of Dawson; grandchildren: Chad (Kim) Jordahl, Amy Jordahl, Sadie (Dean) Solem and their children Kade and Mason; Brita (Matt) Stange and their children Jaxon, Kennedy, Beckham, and Cowen; Darin (Leah) Prestholdt and their children Nora and Ellis, and Dane (Heidi) Prestholdt and their children Charlie, Holden, and Hadley; sisters-in-law: Mildred Jordahl of Dawson, Doris Jordahl of Washington, and Edith Logeland of Bloomington, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Bernice on September 17, 1999; brothers: Omar, Roy, Alvie, Orvie, Myron (Ann) Jordahl; and sisters: Belma (Eddie) Haakenson, Bernice (Elmer) Olson, Agnes (Leonard) Olson, and Tena (Joe) Bjorgan.
