Harold Hoppe of Montevideo died on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 83.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. A live stream will be on Harold’s obituary page at 10:30 am on the day of the service. Social distancing and masks will be required for the service. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens at a later date.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Harold Gustav Hoppe was born on May 21, 1937 in Chippewa County LoneTree Township to Gustav and Katie (Haats) Hoppe. He was baptized at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Raymond on June 1, 1937 and confirmed on April 10, 1951. He graduated from Raymond High School and attended Augustana State College in Sioux Falls and Mankato State College in Mankato, MN.
On September 17th, 1960 he was united in marriage to Beatrice Jordahl in Raymond, MN. They lived in Willmar and St. Paul, MN. They then moved to Albert Lea and then to Montevideo where he worked for Successful Farming for 27 years. Harold was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo and served as Head Usher and was a part of the radio broadcast for the church for many years. He also fixed the sewing machines that the women of the church used for making quilts. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Harold is survived by his wife, Beatrice; his children: Vickie Kepner, Michele Jacobs and Jeff (Dina) Hoppe, all of Florida; eight grandchildren: Brandon Kepner, Brittany Jo (Nick) Swenson, Cody Kepner, Jordan (Adam) Bryan, Tyler (Amber) Jacobs, Nicole (Jon) Liebler, Joseph Hoppe, Grace Hoppe. 4 great-grandchildren: Kellen, Kason, Scout, Lincoln. 3 siblings, Douglas (Mona) Hoppe, Minneapolis, sister, Yvonne (Keith) Wikstrom, Fargo, ND, and Myron (Bev) Hoppe; a number of nieces and nephews and extended family.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Alice.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers please give memorials to Our Savior's Missions Programs in honor of Harold .
