Harold Koenen, of Montevideo, died on Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 61. Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, November 2, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 5:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Harold Koenen was born on January 26, 1946 in Montevideo, MN to Fred and Almitta (Remillard) Koenen. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City and attended Clara City Schools. On September 11, 1965, he was united in marriage to Pat Waters at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. He lived his entire married life in Montevideo, where he drove truck for a number of companies, most recently for Gibson Trucking. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. Harold enjoyed camping, deer hunting, farming and coffee with friends at Trailways. His greatest joys were his grandchildren and walks with his sister-in-laws dog Trixie.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, children: Mike Koenen and his wife Judy of Montevideo and Teresa Koenen and her boyfriend Todd Bode of Courtland, MN; two grandchildren: Brianna and Brayden Bode; two brothers: Kenneth (and Emma) Koenen of Maynard, MN and twin brother, Harvey (and LaRae) Koenen of Clara City, MN; three sisters: Shirley (and Leon) Schnell of Tyler, MN, Lois Hage of Hanska, MN and Carole Kaupang of Minneapolis, MN; one sister-in-law, Audrey (and Maurice) Erickson of Montevideo; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Trixie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Viola Hage; one brother, Stanley Koenen; two brothers-in-law, Willard Hage and Russ Thompson; and by a great nephew, Jason Koenen.
