Harold Kragh

Harold Kragh, of Dawson and formerly of Montevideo, died Monday, June 1, 2008 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 94. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 10:30 AM Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. Rev. Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be at Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson. Harold Andrew Kragh was born April 9, 1915 at Shaokatan Township, Lincoln County, MN the son of James and Marie (Thomsen) Kragh. He attended school and grew to adulthood there. He was united in marriage August 25, 1940 with Edna Nelsen. They made their home in Marshall until 1954 when they moved to Montevideo. Harold worked at Union Oil Co. from 1954-63 and then for MN Valley Road Construction until 1974, when he worked with his son operating Kragh Trucking until retiring in 1984. They moved to Dawson in 1997 after the flood took their home in Montevideo. Harold enjoyed working with wood, gardening, fishing, hunting and trapping in his earlier years. He was always active in church and was currently a member at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. He is survived by his wife, Edna; a son, Eldon (and Pat) Kragh of Dawson, MN; two grandchildren: Sean (and Pepsi) Kragh of Mounds View, MN and Joel (and Nicole) Kragh of Clarkfield, MN; five grandchildren: Mookie, Kaylee, Brooklyn, Emerson, and Tatum; a brother, Lyle (and Esther) Kragh of Jordon, MN; and a sister-in-law, Doris Kragh of Tyler, MN. Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers: Ralph (and Velera) Kragh, Jess Kragh, and Kenny (and Verna) Kragh.
