Harold S. Sabe, 73, of Montevideo died April 29, 1994 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, at 1:30 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Warren Broughton will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home and with the family from 7-8:00 P.M. Monday evening.
Harold Selmer Sabe was born February 26, 1921 in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, MN the son of Heine and Susie (Nelson) Sabe. Harold was baptized and confirmed at Israel Lutheran Church near Clarkfield. He attended rural school in Yellow Medicine County until his father's death in 1933 when he was needed to help on the farm. Harold worked for Consumers Co-op in Clarkfield for 16 years and for Cloverleaf Dairy in Montevideo for 11 years before retiring in 1979. He was united in marriage with Virginia Winge (Johnson) March 22, 1967 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Harold had been a resident of Clarkfield Care Center since November of 1993.
He is survived by his wife Virginia of Montevideo; one son, Tim and his wife Sara of Clara City, MN; two step-sons: David Johnson and his wife Janet of Andover, MN and Jeff Johnson and his wife Sandy of Montevideo, MN; one step-daughter, Cathy Haas of Odessa, MN; 8 grandchildren: Paige Sabe, Jeremy Johnson, Hilary Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Jason Haas, Eli Haas, and Heidi Haas; and two sisters: Anna Applewick and Tillie Enstad both of Clarkfield, MN.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother Anton; and one sister Hazel Frieberg.
