Harold Tanhoff, 80, of Watson, died September 24, 2000 at the Clara City Care Center in Clara City.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 30, 2000 at 1:30 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. Rev. Don Lovejoy will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Harold Wilferd Tanhoff was born May 24, 1920 at Montevideo, MN the son of William and Josie (Coyle) Tanhoff. He attended rural school and grew to adulthood near Montevideo. Harold served in the C.C. Camp near Winona. He entered the US Army in 1942 where he served in Alaska and the European Theater before his discharge in 1945. Harold worked as a carpenter for Peterson Bros. Construction. He was united in marriage with Myrtle Benson September 7, 1963 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. They made their home in Montevideo and moved to Watson in 1998. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the American Legion and the V.F.W.
Harold was currently living at the Clara City Care Center.
He is survived by one step-son, Merald (Bonnie) Sagnes of Trade Lake, WI; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Faye Tanhoff of Montevideo, MN; two nephews: Larry (Kris) Tanhoff and their children Laura, Billy, and Michael and Loren Tanhoff and his children Mark, Tracy, and Sara; and one niece, Joan Updike and her children Daniel, Mark, Mary, JoEllen, and Katie.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Myrtle Tanhoff March 14, 1999; one brother, Cleon “Bob” Tanhoff; and one sister, Orvelyn Loos.
