Harold Winters of rural Montevideo died Friday, March 21, 2008 at his home at the age of 82. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Ronald Hobbie will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7:00 P.M. Harold Percy Winters was born March 18, 1926 near Mitchell, South Dakota the son of Harry and Minerva (Rudisill) Winters. He was baptized in South Dakota and confirmed on January 31, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock and attended rural schools. Harold moved with his family to Minnesota in 1940. He was united in marriage with Janet Sulflow April 12, 1958 at Ortonville, MN. They farmed until retiring in 1993. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock. Harold enjoyed fishing in earlier years, restoring old cars and tractors, gardening, and he loved to visit. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Janet; four children: Percy (and Cindy) Winters of Montevideo, Harley (and Karen) Winters of Montevideo, Rodney Winters of Jacksonville, FL, and Sidney (and Bev) Winters of Montevideo; eight grandchildren: Hesston, Heath, Hank, Marcus, Lucas, Josh and Hannah Winters and Meagan Johnson; one great-grandchild, Brooklyn; and two sisters: Darlene Clark of Danube, MN and Alvera Clark of Norwood Young America, MN. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers: Wilbur and Aaron Winters.
