Harriet (Johnson) Molden

December 10, 1921 — November 21, 2013

Harriet Molden, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 91.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 10:30 AM  at Watson Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Olson officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Harriet Elois (Johnson) Molden was born on December 10, 1921 in Lac qui Parle County, MN to John and Clara (Falla) Johnson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church and grew up in Chippewa County.  On March 9, 1940 she was united in marriage to Harris Molden at the Big Bend Lutheran Parsonage. They lived in Benson for several years, farmed east of Milan for about 20 years and moved into Watson  in 1965.  Harriet was the bookkeeper for Molden Machine Shop.  She was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home.  She was very active in the Watson Community and the Watson Lutheran Church.  Harriet enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, fishing and she loved to make gifts for all of her family.

She is survived by three daughters: Phyllis (Stanley) Baldwin of Montevideo, Darlene (Jerry) Borg of Watson, and Barbara (Larry) Christenson of Montevideo; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Molden of Montevideo; twelve grandchildren: Darci (Owen) Schipnewski, Steve Baldwin, Brad Borg, Wendy (Tim) Lindemann, Stacy Borg, Monica Christenson, Deb (Sean) Vadies, Chad (Wendy) Christenson, Angel Molden, Amber Molden, April (Ryan) Borstad, and Andrea (Guy) Block; 22 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harris in 1989; a son, Bruce in 2012; an infant granddaughter; two brothers: Milton and Marvin Johnson; and three sisters: Irene Cary, Almie Jacobs, and Clarice Johnson.
