Harriet Rodeberg, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, June 12, 2011 surrounded by family at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud at the age of 84. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Saron Lutheran Church in rural Montevideo with the Rev. Willie Rosin officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. and a prayer service at 6:45 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with time to share stories and memories. Harriet Meredith (Olson) Rodeberg was born on March 31, 1927 in Hazel Run, MN to Henry and Mathilda (Imes) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith which continued to be the foundation of her life. She attended Clarkfield Public Schools and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1945. On March 16, 1947 she was married to Robert Rodeberg at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. Constant companions and partners, they farmed in Leenthrop Township for many years before moving into Montevideo in 1995. Harriet was a long-time member of Saron Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years and was active in Ladies Aid. She also was an active leader and supporter of the Wegdahl Willing Workers 4H Club for many years. She especially enjoyed league bowling and dancing with husband Bob. Family get-togethers were always a highlight and she enjoyed cooking, sewing, flower gardening, shopping and watching Twins games. She had a love for animals and gave special care to those that were orphaned. Harriet's family was her pride and joy and she especially delighted in watching events and activities that involved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her five children: Sherry (and Jerry) Johnson of Woodbury, MN, Steven (and Marilyn) Rodeberg of Montevideo, Mary Squiers of Chaska, MN, Marc (and Lynn) Rodeberg and Randy (and Betty) Rodeberg, both of Montevideo; twelve grandchildren: Anthony (Ana) Johnson, Eric Johnson, Kris (Stacy) Rodeberg, Kari (Craig) Hendrickson, Jon (Amy) Rodeberg, Cassie (Nate) Koenig, Nick Squiers, Mindy Rodeberg, Josh (Jessica) Rodeberg, Shaun Rodeberg, Ashley Rodeberg and Derek Rodeberg; ten great-grandchildren: Tyler, Brandon, Jesse, Tristan, Alex, Addison, Jayden and his expected brother, Jada, Jorja and Andre and his expected sister; a brother-in-law, Allard Stevens of Granite Falls, MN and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 2008; two sisters: Hazel Fadness and Judith Stevens; and a brother-in-law, Rueben Fadness.
