Hazel Pederson, of Dawson and formerly of Boyd, died on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson at the age of 83.
Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 5:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating.
Hazel Doris (Couture) Pederson was born on April 27, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN to Frederick and Lillian (Anderson) Couture. She grew up in Minneapolis and attended Central High School. In 1941 she was united in marriage to Donald Pederson in Minneapolis. They lived in Little Falls, Minneapolis, and Excelsior, MN. She moved to Boyd, MN in 1985. She has been a resident of the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson for the past two years. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bird watching, baking, cooking and cake decorating.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Helen Vogt of Aberdeen, SD and Merry Sue Nelson and her husband Tom of Boyd, MN 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Vie Kirkwold of Minneapolis, MN and Helen Paulson of Sun City, AZ as well as by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald in 1967, a daughter Joan Olson in 2004 and by a sister, Belle Golusky.
