H.E. "Shorty" Burns, 63, of Maynard died September 21, 1993 at his home in Maynard.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 25 at 1:00 P.M. at Maynard Lutheran Church in Maynard. Rev. Ronald Duty will officiate and interment will be at Maynard Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Saturday. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
H.E. Burns was born May 13, 1930 at Montevideo, MN the son of Edward and Emma (Brekken) Burns. He graduated from Maynard High School in 1948 and later served in the US Navy. Shorty was a sales manager for Cargill at Gluek, MN for 40 years. He retired June 1, 1991. He was united in marriage with Shirley Peterson June 11, 1977 at Maynard, MN. He was a lifelong member of Maynard Lutheran Church, a member of Maynard Legion Post #252, Sunset Lodge 109 of Montevideo and Zuhrah Shrine Temple, and Maynard Lions Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley; step-children: Sandra Fundingsland and her husband Jon of Stillwater, MN, Debra Riley and her husband Joe of Granite Falls, MN, and Pat Schadeck and his wife Lori of Cottage Grove, MN; and four grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Ted.
