Helen Orella (Goulson) Iverson

Helen Iverson, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, January 22, 1997 at the Chippewa County  - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 82.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 25, 1997 at 1:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Douglas Olson and Rev. Warren Broughton will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening and with the family from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and for one hour prior to services at the church.

Helen Orrella (Goulson) Iverson was born on January 23, 1914 in Chippewa County, MN the daughter of Theodore Gustav and Caroline (Myhre) Goulson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.  On September 29, 1940 she was united in marriage to Clifford Iverson at Jevnaker Lutheran Church.  They farmed in West Bank Township for many years before moving to Montevideo in 1970.  They were long-time members of Big Bend Lutheran Church and have been members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church since moving to Montevideo.  She was active in church altar guild, and enjoyed handwork, flowers and gardening.

She is survived her husband - Clifford; by two daughters: Loretta Iverson of Benson, MN and Delores Petrie and her husband Jeff of St. Louis Park, MN; two grandchildren: Kristofer and Kevin Petrie; two brothers: Melvin Goulson and his wife Bernice of Montevideo, MN and Helge Goulson and his wife Alice of St. Cloud, MN; three sisters: Emma Zempel of Montevideo, MN, Gladys Zempel of Montevideo, MN and Pearl Albin and her husband Erling of Hanley Falls, MN; one sister-in-law, Harriet Goulson of Montevideo; as well as by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bernt Goulson; two nephews; and two brothers-in-law.
