Helen Marie (Lofthus) Jacobs was born August 23, 1927 in Montevideo, MN to Oscar and Helen (Gaines) Lofthus.  With the passing of her mother at birth, Helen was lovingly raised by her aunt Christine Thomton along with Christine’s five children who Helen considered her brothers and sisters.  She was baptized September 11, 1927.  A life long resident of Montevideo, Helen graduated from Montevideo High School in 1945.  On June 7, 1947 she was united in marriage to Donald Jacobs at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Minneapolis.

She is survived by her five children: Craig (and En) Jacobs of St. Cloud, MN, Michael (and Mary) Jacobs of Marshall, MN, Barbara Pate of St. Augustine, FL, Kimberly (and Mike) Gulden of Prairie du Sac, WI, and Tom (and Sandy) Jacobs of Kansas City, MO; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters: Bee Lindeberg of Burnsville, MN and Janet Streff of Red Wing, MN; and close family friend, Jerome Fragodt.
