Helen Theoline Teigen

Helen Teigen, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, January 24, 1998 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 98.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 27, 1998 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson, MN with Rev. Harold Knutson officiating.  Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Helen Theolene Teigen was born on August 23, 1899 to Hans and Thea (Klefstad) Teigen in Big Bend Township.  She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.  She attended Normal Training at Montevideo and taught rural school for four years.  She lived for 92 years on the family farm before moving into Montevideo in 1991.  She was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home.  She was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church, active in its women’s organizations and was the church organist for over 50 years.  She was currently a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was assistant organist and active in its women’s organizations.

She is survived by two nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers - Rudolph, Adolph, Elmer and Oscar Teigen; a sister - Mabel Teigen; 3 nephews and 1 niece.
