Helma (Haakenson) Noyes

Helma Noyes, of Montevideo, died on Monday June 26, 1995 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 95.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday June 30, 1995 at 2:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Norman Aronson officiating.  Burial will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.  The Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Helma (Haakenson) Noyes was born on August 30, 1899 in Clarkfield, MN. to Hans and Severina (Johnson) Haakenson.  She grew up in the Ten Mile Lake area near Boyd, MN. and attended rural schools.  She was united in marriage to John Noyes in 1935 in Montevideo, MN.  She has lived in Montevideo since 1935 and worked as a maid at the Riverside Hotel and Hotel Hunt for many years before retiring.  She was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home.

She is survived by a son Jerome Noyes and his wife Judy of Canyon Lake, TX; by grandchildren - Jan Smith of Minneapolis, MN.; Jack Noyes of California; and Bill Noyes of Oregon; by 2 great grandchildren; and by a sister - Julia Danielson of Starbuck, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by sisters - Dagny Schultz, Selma Kostad, Mabel Olson, and Agnes DeYapp; and by a brother - Edwin Haakenson.
