Helmfred "Fred" Larson

January 12, 1909 — September 16, 1992

Helmfred (Fred) Larson, 83, died Wednesday, September 16, 1992 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 19, 1992 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Robert Olson and Rev. James McCalmant will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday afternoon and evening at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Saturday.

Helmfred Morris Larson was born January 12, 1909 at Sacred Heart, MN the son of the late Henry and Mary (Jacobson) Larson.  He attended school and grew to adulthood at Montevideo.  On July 1, 1932 he was united in marriage with Evelyn Lokken at Montevideo.  He had a print shop called "Fred's Print Shop" which he operated until retiring in 1974.  Fred had been living at Luther Haven for the last few years.

Fred  was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, sang in the church choir, and served as a Deacon-Trustee.  He also was a charter member and past president of the Lions Cub, a member of the Montevideo Male Chorus, Barbershop Chorus, and served on the Monte Golf Club Board.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; one daughter Janice Theissen and her husband Bob of Madison, WI; three grandsons: Tim and his wife Cyndy of Atlanta, GA, Todd and his wife Jane of Eau Claire, WI, and Brett of Greensboro, NC; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother LeRoy.
