Henry Rache, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, October 20, 1998 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 95.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 24, 1998 at 1:30 PM at Bergen Lutheran Church with Rev. Julie Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Henry Clarence Rache was born June 28, 1903 in Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, MN the son of Mons and Sophie (Simonson) Rache. He was baptized and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church and he attended rural school in Stony Run Township and also the Madison Normal School. Henry was united in marriage with Irene Thompson September 21, 1935 at Spring Creek Church in Sunburg, MN. They farmed in Stony Run Township before moving into Brookside Manor in 1993. He was a charter member of the Stony Run Farmers Union, past vice president and director of Nordfjordlag, and a lifetime member of Bergen Lutheran Church. Henry enjoyed gardening and photography and he had kept a daily diary since the 1940's.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; two children: Sonia Rache of Bloomington, MN and Milton Rache and his wife Adeline of Bloomington, MN; one grandson, Michael Rache; four step-granddaughters: Debra Green, Karen Elton, Cindy Androff, and Jodi Jacobsen; two brothers: Charles Rache of Granite Falls, MN and Stanley Rache of Granite Falls, MN; and one sister, Evelyn Dotseth of Granite Falls, MN.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers: Levi, Roy, and Monroe; and one sister, Dena Monson.
