Henry Running, of Clara City, died on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 85.
Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, April 8, 2005 at 2:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating.
Henry Raymond Running was born on October 3, 1919 near Milan, MN in Chippewa County to Martin and Louise (Halvorson) Running. He was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church and graduated from Milan High School in 1937. He served in the US Army from 1942 - 1945, serving in North Africa, Italy and Central Europe and was awarded a Bronze Star. Following his discharge from the Army, he went to work as a Dispatcher for the Denver Rio Grande Railway in Price, Utah and Grand Junction, Colorado. He retired from the railroad in 1982 and moved to Appleton, MN, where he lived until moving to Clara City, MN in 1999. He was currently a resident at Prairie Park Place in Clara City.
He is survived by a sister, Mabel Barduson of Madison, MN and several nieces and nephews in the area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Albert, Alvin and Oliver Running and by three sisters: Annie Olson, Luella Bryan and Marion Running.
Henry Running died on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 85.
