Hildegarde Owens, of Montevideo, died on Sunday October 23, 1994 at the Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wi. at the age of 83. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday October 26 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. There will be no visitation or reviewal. Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Hildegarde Theresa (Lima) Owens was born on February 9, 1911 in Montevideo, Mn. to Dr. Ludwig and Constance (Bergh) Lima,Sr. She grew up in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1929. She attended and graduated from Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. On March 3, 1940 she was united in marriage to Dr. William Owens in Montevideo. She was a lifelong resident of Montevideo and was a member of PEO, AAUW, Altar Guild at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, was active in Girl Scouts on a local and regional level, and served for two terms on the Montevideo City Council.
She is survived by her husband William; by daughters - Elizabeth and her husband Fred Kieske of Fremont, Ca.; and Carolyn and her husband Michael Kelly of Norcross, Ga.; by sons - Jonathan and his wife Linda of Woodland Hills, Ca.; and Thomas and his wife Cindy of Onalaska, Wi.; 7 grandchildren; and by a niece - Constance and her husband Mark Arneson of LaCrosse, Wi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by sisters - Antoinnette Lima and Brunhilde Brown; by a brother - Ludwig Lima, Jr.; and by a nephew - Robert Brown.
