Holly Elizabeth (Knorr) Pederson

Holly Pederson, of Montevideo, died Monday, February 12, 2007 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 101.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Charles Leonard will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before services on Thursday.

Holly Elizabeth (Knorr) Pederson was born January 5, 1906 in Hamlin Township, Lac qui Parle County, MN the daughter of Henry and Emma (Jeppe) Knorr.  She graduated from Madison High School in 1924.  She was united in marriage with Peder L. Pederson September 7, 1932 in Hamlin Township.  They made their home in Montevideo.  Holly worked as a hairstylist and seamstress.  She also worked at the front desk of the Hunt Hotel, and as a seamstress at Ekberg’s and The Hutch.  She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, the Blood Bank, and Altar Guild at Salem Lutheran Church.  She knitted over 50 lap robes for the senior center.  Holly was active in the Salem Church addition committee.  She enjoyed knitting and cooking.  Peder died January 12, 1963.  Holly lived at Brookside Manor for a few years before moving to Luther Haven Nursing Home in 1998.

She is survived by one son, Carroll (Jennifer) Pederson of Tuscaloosa, AL; three grandchildren: Larry (Debbie) Pederson, Bob (Barbie) Pederson, and Mary Kay Pederson; three great-grandchildren: Christopher (Katy) Pederson, Emily Pederson and Andy Pederson; one sister-in-law, Erma Knorr of Madison, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Peder; one daughter, Frances Pederson; five brothers: Ruben, Wilfred, Floyd, Ray, and Ellsworth Knorr; and two sisters: Cora Radford and Luella Anderson.
