Homer Vesta, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 86. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Sunday. Homer Sherwood Vesta was born on May 27, 1922 in DeKalb, Il to Louie and Clara (Lukken) Vesta. He was baptized in DeKalb and moved with his family to the Boyd, MN area when he was about one year old. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd and graduated from Boyd High School in 1940. He attended the Minnesota School of Business before returning to farming in the Boyd area. On December 1, 1946 he was united in marriage to Doris Westgaard at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson, MN . He farmed until retiring and moving to Montevideo in 1990. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd and had served as a Town Board Member in Ten Mile Lake Township. He was especially fond of old tractors. He is survived by his wife; cousins: Don and Alyce Lukken of Clarkfield, MN; Gladys Mork of Laramie, WY; Barb & Paul Flykt of Champlin, MN and David and Laurel Lukken of Clarkfield, MN and a sister-in-law, Verna Ronning of Northfield, MN.
