Hulda Bakke, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, June 23, 1998 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 89.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 29, 1998 at 10:30 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Rev. Douglas Olson and Rev. Warren Broughton officiating. Burial will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening and with the family from 6:30 - 8:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Hulda Adeline (Bystrom) Bakke was born on July 12, 1908 in Big Bend Township of Chippewa County, Minnesota to Gustav and Anna (Olson) Bystrom. She was baptized and confirmed at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan, MN and attended rural schools. On September 5, 1929 she was united in marriage to Alf Bakke at the Watson Lutheran Parsonage. They lived in the Watson, Milan and Montevideo areas in Chippewa County. She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past 12 years. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one daughter, LaVonne Tomes and her husband Ted of Willmar, MN; one granddaughter, Tracy Dammermann and her husband John of Spicer, MN; one grandson, Scott Tomes and his wife Laura of Minnetrista, MN; two great-grandchildren: Justine and Taylor Dammermann; two sisters-in-law: Myrtle Nesset of Lake Lillian, MN and Ruth Bakke of Williston, ND; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alf in 1986; five sisters: Nora Lovhaug, Edith Olson, Agnes Christenson, Hannah Lokken, and Amanda Bystrom; and one nephew, Alfred Lokken, Jr.
