Ingvald "Stens" Stenson

December 22, 1909 — December 1, 1993

Ingvald "Stens" Stenson was born on December 22, 1909 in Lac Qui Parle Co., Minnesota to Andrew and Minnie Stenson.  He attended bookkeeping school in Sioux Falls, SD, and later married Emelie "Millie" Gilsrud on March 21, 1938.  He was manager of Gipson Lumber Yards in Montevideo and Mantorville, Mn. They moved to Lake City where he owned and operated the Lake City Millwork Company.  They later moved to Cannon Falls, Mn.,where he and his wife owned and operated the Cannon Drive In.  On his retirement, he and his wife made harnesses for minature horses, which they did for 15 years.

Ingvald died on Wednesday December 1 at the Hi-Park Care Center in Red Wing, Mn. at the age of 83.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years - Millie; by daughters - Maeva (Nash) Lopez of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Judy (Roger) Husbyn of Bricelyn,Mn.; by a son - Robert(Donna) Stenson of Kansas City, Mo.; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; by brothers - Morry of Kimball, SD.; and Juel of Hancock, Mn.; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents,by an infant daughter - Beverly; and by brothers - Sam, Alfred, Clarence, Art, Ansel, Ed, Ted, Cliff, and Orville.


Funeral Services - Tuesday Dec. 7,1993 - 11:00 A.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Waren Broughton officiating.  Burial will be in  Sunset memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
