Ione Falk, of Montevideo, died on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Knute Nelson Home in Alexandria, MN at the age of 89. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Bergen Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Weston officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 5:30 P.M., all at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Ione Pearl (Anderson) Falk was born on November 1, 1918 on a farm near Bottineau, North Dakota to Victor and Phoebe (Warner) Anderson. At the age of two weeks, she moved with her family to Dawson, MN. She was baptized on September 28, 1924 at Providence Valley Lutheran Church of rural Dawson and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She attended rural schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1936. On April 7, 1940 she was united in marriage to Edwin Falk at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd, MN. They farmed for 36 years before retiring. She has lived in Montevideo for a number of years and had just recently become a resident of the Knute Nelson Home in Alexandria, MN. She was a long-time member of Bergen Lutheran Church and was involved with its women's groups, taught Sunday School and was on the library board. She also served as a volunteer on the Sr. Link Visitation Committee. Ione enjoyed bowling, quilting, gardening, growing flowers, baking, embroidering and her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two children: Gary Falk and his wife Kathy of Estes Park, CO and Loretta Lundy and her husband David of Alexandria, MN; four grandchildren: Scott Lundy; Lisa (and Frank) Bistodeau; Teresa (and Scot) Sorenson; and Julie (and Brent) Bauer; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Anderson of Arizona; two sisters: Vivian Anderson of Montevideo and Lucille (and Art) Hermanson of Boyd; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin in 1976; a granddaughter, Nancy Falk; three brothers: Roger, Monrud and Arnold Anderson; and by three sisters: Avanelle Saue, Iarud Ludvigson and Irene Frolund.
