Irene Haugerud, of Montevideo, died on Thursday June 23, 1994 at the Chippewa Co-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 82. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday June 27 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Lloyd Tobiassen officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo. Viistation will be Sunday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Irene Victoria (Pearson) Haugerud was born on April 7, 1912 in Montevideo, Mn. to Carl J. and Andria Pearson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended Montevideo Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Ole Minsaas on May 27, 1932 in Willmar, Mn. Following his death in 1958, she was united in marriage to Joseph Haugerud on December 20, 1966 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She was a lifelong resident of the Montevideo area and worked for the Montevideo School Lunch Program for a number of years before retiring. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was active in it's Altar Guild, and was a member of the Hospital Auxillary.
She is survived by her husband - Joseph; by a son - Ronald (Rita) Minsaas of Minneapolis,Mn.; by grandsons - Michael and Brant Minsaas of Minneapolis, Mn.; by sisters - Evelyn Gilsrud and La Von Anderson of Montevideo; by a brother - Charles Pearson of Montevideo; as well by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her first husband - Ole Minsaas; by a son - Jerald Minsaas; by brothers - Everett, Clayton and Gordon Pearson; and by a sister - Myrtle Peterson.
