Irene Eleanor (Thompson) Rache

Irene Rache, of Montevideo, died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 92.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at Bergen Lutheran Church.   Rev. Jennifer Hackbarth will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Irene Eleanor (Thompson) Rache was born December 7, 1911 in Camp Lake Township, Swift County, MN the daughter of Albert and Hannah (Roget) Thompson.  She was baptized at Rolling Forks Lutheran Church in Swift Falls and confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church in Sunburg, MN.    She attended rural schools and Ag School at Morris.  Irene was united in marriage with Henry C. Rache September 21, 1935 at Spring Creek Church in Sunburg, MN.  They  made their home in Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County until November of 1993 when they moved to Brookside Manor in Montevideo.  She had been a resident of Luther Haven Nursing home since January.  Irene was a member of Homemakers Club, Circle at Bergen Lutheran Church, Farmers Union, Nordfjordlag and Sons of Norway.

She is survived by one son, Milton Rache and his wife Adeline of Bloomington, MN; one daughter, Sonia Rache of Bloomington, MN; one grandson, Michael Rache and special friend Tammy Moyer; great-grandchildren: Brandon and Derek Rache and Tammy’s son Jared; four step-grandchildren: Debra (David) Green, Karen (John) Niedenfuer, Cindy Androff, and Jodi Jacobson; six step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; four sisters: Lillian Thompson, Alyce O’Denius, Evelyn Ellison, and Dorrie (Jerry) Roehl; two brothers: Walter (Bonnie) Thompson and Vernon (Betty) Thompson; one brother-in-law, Stanley Rache, one sister-in-law, Eleanor Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Henry on October 20, 1998; and brother Joseph.
