Irhn Day, formerly of Montevideo, died on Thursday, January 7, 1999 at his home in Willmar at the age of 79.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 11, 1999 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. David Hoyme Officiating. Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be for 2 hours prior to services at the church on Monday.
Irhn Arthur Day was born on December 25, 1919 in Montevideo, MN to Arthur and Anne (Eggers) Day. He grew up in Montevideo and attended Montevideo Public Schools. He served in the US Army during WWII and was stationed in Germany. On July 27, 1946 he was united in marriage to Helen M. Olson in Dawson, MN. They have been married for 52 ½ years. He was employed at the Chippewa Co Highway Dept as shop foreman for 33 years before retiring 16 years ago. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo and the Montevideo VFW Post. After having lived in Montevideo all his life, he moved to Willmar in April of 1995 and became a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; one daughter, Betty Lundquist and her husband Ronald of Blomkest, MN; one son, Robert Day and his wife Andrea of Elk River, MN; 4 grandchildren: Stacy Lundquist, Chad Lundquist, Erik Day and Nichole Day; one sister, Iris Johnson of Willmar, MN; and one brother, Herbert Day of South Shore, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Orva Day and Oma Erickson; and three brothers: Arden Day, Lyndon “Razzie” Day and Roland Day.
