Irven “Corky” Hilden, 80, of Watson, died Monday, September 10, 2001 at Friendship Manor in Shakopee, MN at the age of 80.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 14, 2001 at 1:30 P.M. at Watson Lutheran Church. Rev. Larry Olson officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.
Irven Gilbert Hilden was born February 10, 1921 at Watson, MN to Gilbert and Inga (Iverson) Hilden. He was baptized and confirmed at Watson Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1940. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Corky was united in marriage with Grace Atchison October 21, 1950 at Benson, MN. They made their home in Watson and later in Minneapolis where he drove bus for Greyhound for 29 years until retiring in 1977. Grace died in 1974. He was united in marriage with Helen (Hanson) Bofferding September 26, 1975. They moved to Watson in 1998. Helen died in 1999. Corky was a member of the Sons of Norway, was a volunteer at the serviceman’s center at the Minneapolis airport, and a member of the VFW in Bloomington.
He is survived by four children: Bill Hilden of St. Cloud, MN, Michael Hilden of Richfield, MN, Julie Hilden of Shakopee, MN, and Jill Larue of Duluth, MN; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Wallace of Clarkfield, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two wives: Grace and Helen; and one daughter, Rae Anne Hilden in infancy.
