Isabelle Anderson, 77, formerly of Storm Lake, IA and Montevideo, MN, died August 14, 1994 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, MN.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 18, 1994 at 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. Rev. Robert Ford will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and with the family from 6-8:00 P.M. There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before services on Thursday.
Isabelle Myrtle Boettcher was born December 24, 1916 at New England, ND the daughter of Harry and Hulda (Nelson) Boettcher. She attended school and grew to adulthood in Montevideo, MN. She moved to Iowa and was united in marriage with Albert B. Rassler October 26, 1935 at Pomeroy, IA. They made their home in the Palmer/Varina, IA area and later moved to Storm Lake, IA where she worked as a waitress and cook at Constable Drug, Cobblestone Inn, and Maple Lanes Bowling Alley. She also worked at the canning factory there. There were 8 children born to this marriage. Isabelle and Albert were later divorced and she moved to Montevideo. She was united in marriage with Amel M. Anderson August 23, 1969 in Montevideo. She worked at Trailways Cafe, Tise's Cafe, Monte Motel, and at Carlson Doll Factory. Isabelle enjoyed sewing, fishing, gardening, traveling, and visiting her children and grandchildren. Amel died March 6, 1993.
She is survived by three sons: Edmund Rassler and his wife Marilyn of St. Louis, MO, Kenneth Rassler and his wife Rebecca of Rembrandt, IA, and Raymond Rassler and his wife Sally of Rembrandt, IA; five daughters: Vernice Buckendahl and her husband Jerry of Alta, IA, AnnaBelle "Annie" Chindlund and her husband Ronald of Cherokee, IA, Peg Anderson of Storm Lake, IA, Velma Totten of Storm Lake, IA, and Nadine "Dee Dee" Waddell and her husband Carl of Aurelia, IA; 23 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; four brothers: Leonard Boettcher and his wife Adel of Porthill, ID, Clarence Boettcher of Montevideo, MN, Frank Boettcher of Montevideo, MN, and Darrold Boettcher and his wife Clarice of Montevideo, MN; two sisters: Agnes Gimmestad of Montevideo, MN and Vernice Erickson and her husband Wayne K. of Montevideo, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Amel; one grandson, Scott Chindlund; one son-in-law, Gordon Totten; and one sister in infancy.
