Iver Eide, of rural Milan, Mn. died on Saturday June 11, 1994 at his home at the age of 73. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday June 15, 1994 at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Wayne Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening and with the family from 7 - 8 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Iver O. Eide was born on May 29, 1921 in Chippewa Co., Minnesota to Olaf and Mathea Eide. He grew up in South Dakota and attended rural schools. He served in the U.S.Army in North Africa and Italy, was wounded and was presented the Purple Heart. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Golden on September 9, 1945 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson. He farmed in the Starbuck and Milan areas until he began working at the Watson Elevator in 1959. He retired from the elevator in 1982. He served as a van driver for the county veterans for 11 years and was currently a volunteer driver for the county family services. He was a member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church; the American Legion Post #359 of Milan; the D.A.V. Chapter #24 of Milan; the V.F.W.Post #380 of Montevideo; and the Minnesota Valley Antique Power and Machinery Association; and was a past member of the Milan Lions and the Sons of Norway.
He is survived by his wife - Gertrude; by children - Diane (Gary) Dewing of Oklahoma City, Ok.; Ronald (Sharon) Eide of Appleton,Mn.; Linda Eide and her fiance Richard Berg of Brooklyn Park, Mn.; and Kathleen (Ronald) Augeson of Montevideo; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; by brothers - Oren Eide of Milan and Lester Eide of Montevideo; by a sister - Gudrun Steffenson of Starbuck, Mn.; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and by brothers - Palmer and Joseph Eide.
