Iver Siverhus died Thursday, December 19, 2002 at his home in Montevideo at the age of 78.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Wayne D. Kopitzke will officiate and interment will be at Strombeck Lutheran Cemetery, rural Montevideo.
Visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo Sunday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5-7:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 6:30 P.M.
Iver Anker Siverhus was born June 2, 1924 on a farm near Maynard to Martin and Emma Sachariason) Siverhus. He was baptized and confirmed at Saron Lutheran Church. His younger years were spent on the farm working. Iver served in the US Army during WW II in Europe. He was united in marriage with Carol J. Pearson September 10, 1949 at Salem Lutheran Church. Iver worked on road construction and also worked at the Aaker Bakery. He was a charter member of the Montevideo Ambulance and worked for the City of Montevideo for over 30 years. He liked hunting, traveling, working on cars, and being with his family and friends. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; one daughter, Janet Halstead and her husband Duane of Montevideo, MN; one granddaughter, Carrie Jean Valentin; one great-granddaughter, Katlyn Jean; and one sister, Miranda Lauritsen.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one son Bradley; and two brothers: Arnold Siverhus and Oral Siverhus.
