Jacquelyn Fossell, of Montevideo, died on Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Chippewa Co- Montevideo Hospital at the age of 52. Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Matt Philaya officiating. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. and with a prayer service at 6:45 P.M., all at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Jacquelyn Marie (Wolff) Fossell was born on October 4, 1958 in Hopkins, MN to Heiren and June (Homan) Wolff. Her parents separated when she was five years old, and she moved to Boyd, MN with her mother and grandmother to run a cafe. She attended Boyd Public Schools and graduated from Dawson-Boyd High School in 1976. It was during her school years that her mother met and married Wendell Willander. From this marriage Jacque acquired three siblings, Wendy, Aaron and Angie. In 1976 she was united in marriage to David Wilking and to this union a son, Tony was born. In 1982 she was married to Robert Hammerschmidt and to this union a daughter, Stacy, was born. On November 21, 1995 she was united in marriage to Tom Fossell in Watertown, SD, and they made her home in rural Montevideo. She worked for a time as a CNA, at the casino, did housekeeping and most recently cleaning homes for the elderly. She also went along with her husband, Tom, on his portable toilet route. Jacque had many interests, but most importantly were her grandchildren. She relished the time she could spend with them. In addition to her grandchildren, she had a great love for her cocker-spaniel, Maggie. She also spent time and talents giving back to AA. She especially enjoyed her meetings on Tuesday evening and Wednesday noon with her group. She also enjoyed spending Wednesday's with her close friend and sponsor, Dorothy M. She always maintained the idea that when times are the worst, say the Serenity Prayer. In her later years she liked to sit and watch Twins baseball with her husband. She is survived by husband, Thomas; a son, Tony (and Tonya) Wilking and their daughters, Haley and Samantha of Oklahoma; a daughter, Stacy (and Justin) Schmitz and their daughter, Kaylee of Benson, MN; two sisters; Wendy (and Mike) Skorczewski of Arco, MN and Angie Willander of Orono, MN; a brother, Aaron (and Michelle) Willander of Orono, MN; a nephew, Josh Skorczewski; nieces Kattie and Addie Willander; stepchildren: Nathan (and Erin) Fossell and their children Ethan and Quincey of Dell Rapids, SD; Jeremy Fossell of St. Cloud, MN; Adam Fossell of Marshall, MN and Kane Fossell of Montevideo; as well as by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, June Willander, her step-father, Wendell Willander and a niece, Natasha Skorczewski.
