James Leroy Adolph

Milan, MN

James Adolph, of Milan, died on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 60.  Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at 2:30 PM at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating.  Burial was in the Kviteseid Lutheran Milan Methodist Cemetery.

James Leroy Adolph was born on August 9, 1941 near Tunerville, SD to Clarence and Jessie (Hanson) Adolph.  He attended Lonetree Country School thru grade 8 and attended Albert Lea AVTI in 1966-1967.  On March 21, 1963 he was united in marriage to Barbara Blaine at the Canby Presbyterian Church.  They moved to Milan, MN in 1967 when he purchased the Milan Blacksmith Shop.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo, was a member of the Milan Fire Department for over 30 years and a member of the Case Collector Club.  He enjoyed his grandchildren, camping, restoring his antique Case tractors, threshing shows, coffee breaks, car races and Lone Ranger, John Wayne and all cowboy movies and memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; a daughter, Nancy Sannerud and her husband Terry of Clarkfield, MN; a son, Richard Adolph and his wife Phylis of Hazel Run, MN; grandchildren: Terry Jon Sannerud of Milan, MN; Blaine & Spenser Sannerud of Clarkfield, MN; Dustin, Devin, & Tara Adolph of Hazel Run; and Amanda Gutzman of Hazel Run; foster granddaughters: Kris Manasco, Stacy O’Neal, Melissa Johnson and Brandi Hubbard; two sisters: Jeanette Niemann and her husband Jurgen of Castlewood, SD and Bernice Harms and her husband Arthur of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers: Eugene Adolph and his wife Darlene of Gary, SD and Melvin Adolph and his wife Dolly of Revillo, SD; his mother-in-law, Erdine Blaine of Gary, SD; and a sister and brother-in-law, Jo and Leo Kilpatrick of Circle Pines, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Deloris; and his father-in-law, Vernon Blaine.
