James McClendon, of Montevideo and formerly of Bloomington, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at his home in Montevideo at the age of 56. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with Rev. Tim Ehling officiating. James Barney McClendon was born October 6, 1953 at Bloomington, MN the son of James D. and Mildred L. (Simpson) McClendon. He graduated from Kennedy High School in Bloomington, MN. Jim worked for WalMart and later moved to Montevideo in 2010. He enjoyed cars, bikes, and movies. He is survived by cousins including Doug Simpson; and numerous friends including: Sidney Fox who was like a dad to him; Irene Webster who was like an aunt; Katy Duffy and Dean Fowler; and those who felt like his nieces and nephews: John Steinke III, Susan Steinke and Nathan Spletter and their daughter Mackenzie Spletter, Muri Bielefeldt, Caitlin Steinke, and Nancy Steinke. Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, Carrie Petit.
