Jane Nerison

Jane P. Nerison, 69, of Chicago, Illinois, and Montevideo, Minnesota, died in late March 2022, in her Chicago home.

A memorial service was held at Fourth Presbyterian Church 126 E. Chestnut Str. Chicago, IL at 2 PM on May 11, 2022.

Graveside service will be held in Montevideo on Wednesday, August  3, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Jane Nerison was born to Curtis and Margaret "Peggy" (née Caldwell) Nerison in Montevideo, Minnesota on November 5, 1952. She was a graduate of Montevideo High School, class of 1971. Jane earned a B.A. in History, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota in 1975, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. Jane earned a J.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Law School in 1978.

After earning a law degree, Jane worked for multiple Fortune 100 companies in benefits and compensation before she retired as Director, Benefits from Kimberly-Clark in 2011. Jane was an avid traveler, having visited each continent extensively, including Antarctica. She enjoyed visiting family and friends all over the United States and the world. She especially appreciated her travels to Belgium to spend time with the Erauw family, whose family connection went back several decades to when Reit Erauw was an exchange student in Montevideo. In her retirement, Jane expanded her hosting of family and friends in Chicago as well as in Montevideo in the home in which her parents had lived. Jane always looked forward to hosting wherever her work took her including Ohio, New Jersey, Texas, Missouri, and Tennessee. Chicago and Minnesota, however, both represented home for Jane. She was a Deacon and member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago. Jane was also a leader in establishing a new PEO chapter in Chicago. Jane was an avid reader, a patron of the arts (especially theater and museums), supporter of Girl Scouts (and a Girl Scout herself in Montevideo during childhood), and collector of artifacts from her travels.

Jane was preceded in death by her father, Curtis, her mother, Margaret, and her sister, Beth. She is survived by her brother, Chris Nerison of Spokane, Washington, nephew Erik Nerison of Shakopee, Minnesota, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
