Janet Marie Meyer was born January 31, 1945, in Panama City Beach, Florida, to Hosea and Eula Mae Busbee. She was the third oldest of 7 children. She attended Chocktawhatchee High School and graduated in 1963.

Janet worked as a dental assistant before becoming a farm wife when she married Rodney Meyer on March 11th, 1976. They attended Jevnaker Lutheran Church where she was active in the church circle and Ladies Aide. In 1984 they moved to Longmont, Colorado, where they lived for 3 years. In 1987 they moved back to Montevideo, where she worked for Montevideo Family Dentistry for many years, then the Walmart pharmacy for several years before retiring. When asked what she was going to do now that she was retired, she replied “Anything I want!”

Janet loved reading; settling in with a good book was her favorite pastime. She also loved gardening, having coffee with friends, fishing and camping with Rod, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed traveling; some of her travels include Canada, Mexico, and St. Martin. She was a kind, gentle soul who had a smile and a friendly word for everyone.

Janet is survived by her husband, Rodney Meyer, and their son, Brian (& Denise) Meyer of Le Center, and her children from her first marriage: son, Terry (& Cat) Cordingley of Oklahoma; daughter, Tracy (& Scott) Kittelson of Montevideo; daughter, Tami (& Todd) Croy of Shakopee; and many beloved grandchildren: Trevor, Tyler, Anthony, Tanner, Kaity, Rilie, Ashley, Ragan, Kadin, Calin, Julie, and Deven, 2; great-granddaughters: Norah and Mackenzie, and one great-grandbaby on the way. She is also survived by her 3 sisters: Deborah Younkin, Shirley Bethke, and Millie Lamb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Hosea and Eula Mae Busbee; and brothers, Franklin, Melvin, and Johnny Ray.

Janet is deeply loved and will be forever missed. She leaves a hole in her family that will never be filled.
