Jean Lyngen, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at her home in Brookside Manor. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Watson Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 4 - 6 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Jean (Erickson) Lyngen was born on November 29, 1925 in Tunsberg Township of Chippewa Co., MN to John S. and Agnes (Engleson) Erickson She grew up in Lac qui Parle and Swift Counties, attended rural schools and Appleton High School. On August 31, 1956 she was united in marriage to Palmer Lyngen at Pine City, MN. They made their home and farmed in Tunsberg Township until moving into Watson in 1988 and later to Montevideo in 1990. For the past four years she had been residing at Brookside Manor. She was a member of Watson Lutheran Church. Her greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also liked to take photographs and drink coffee. She is survived by two daughters: Laurie (and Wayne) Golden of Danvers, MN and Brenda (and Richard) Henning of Anchorage, AK; two sons: John (and Dolly)Lyngen of Montevideo and Peter (and Laurie) Lyngen, of Milan; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Palmer in 1992; a son, Steven; a great granddaughter; Hannah Golden and by a sister, Frances Jerve.
