Jeannette Elizabeth (Beveridge) Lange

Jeannette Lange, of Montevideo, died on Monday, April 19, 2004 at the Clara City Care center at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 26, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating.  Interment will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening and with the family from 2 - 4 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Jeannette Elizabeth (Beveridge) Lange was born on October 7, 1916 in Paige, ND to William and Elizabeth (Morris) Beveridge.  She grew up in the Appleton, MN area where she attended rural schools.  She attended a nurse’s training program in Madison, MN and worked as a nurse for a year. On June 13, 1948 she was united in marriage to George H. Lange at the Montevideo Methodist Church.  They lived in Montevideo for a year and then farmed in Rosewood Township until 1967, when they moved back into Montevideo.  She has been a resident at the Clara City Care Center since September of 2000.  Jeannette began working at Luther Haven in 1963 and continued to work there for over 20 years.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was active in it’s women’s groups.  She loved to garden, travel, play cards, watch birds, go fishing, do puzzles, bake, do canning, embroider and crochet.

She is survived by three daughters: Phyllis Smith and her husband Carl of Belgrade, MN;  Barbara Lewis and her husband Richard of Minneapolis, MN and Velma Ahlgrim and her husband Randy of Minneapolis, MN; two sons: Robert Lange and his wife Diana of Kimball, MN and Roger of Minneapolis, MN; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marian Beveridge of Appleton, MN and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George in 1990; a son, Morris in 1980; four brothers: William, Kenneth, Robert and Warren Beveridge and two sisters: Charlotte Daun and Myrna Berg.
