Jeff Allen Johnson

Jeff Johnson, 40, of Montevideo died August 31, 1999 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3, 1999 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Warren Broughton will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon and evening and with the family from 6 - 8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Jeffrey Allen Johnson was born on May 11, 1959 in Montevideo, MN to Verlin and Virginia (Winge) Johnson.  He was baptized on June 19, 1959 and confirmed on April 27, 1975 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  He attended Montevideo Public Schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1978.  On July 5, 1978 he was united in marriage to Sandy Erickson in Milbank, SD.  He worked at Moduline in the early 1980's, worked for a time for the Chippewa Co Weed Dept., and has worked as a sales representative at Parkview Ford for the past 11 years.  He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Montevideo Noon Lions and the Men’s Bowling Association.  He enjoyed automobile racing, bowling, deer hunting, snowmobiling and socializing with people.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; two sons: Jerry and  Jonathan of Montevideo; his mother, Virginia Sabe of Montevideo, MN; two brothers: David Johnson and his wife Janet of Andover, MN and Tim Sabe and his wife Sara of Clara City, MN; two sisters: Cathy Haas of Odessa, MN and Kim Raveling and her husband Bob of Montevideo, MN;  his mother-in-law, Leona Erickson of Watson, MN as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Verlin Johnson; his stepfather, Harold Sabe; by his grandparents; his father-in-law, Richard Erickson and one brother-in-law, Tom Haas.
