Jerome “Butch” Olson, of Dawson, died on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 69.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Crossroads Lutheran Congregation in Dawson with Pastor Sarah Carlstrom officiating. Burial will be in Dawson Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Jerome Lloyd Olson was born January 3, 1952 in Clarkfield, MN to Lloyd and Pearl (Olson) Olson. Butch attended and graduated from Dawson-Boyd High School and after high school enlisted in the United States Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborne. He was united in marriage to Linda Lewis on October 15, 1988 in Dawson, MN.
Butch enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, reading, and riding motorcycles. He also loved spending time with his family and was known for playing pranks and telling jokes. Butch took pride in his gun collection, and often would go target shooting.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of Dawson, MN; father, Lloyd Olson of Spicer, MN; sons, Kenneth Olson of Sioux Falls, SD and Matthew (Ron) Olson of Palm Springs, CA; grandchildren, Ysabel Castaneda-Olson, Kenneth Olson Jr. and Athena Olson; brother, David (Deb) Olson of Lino Lakes, MN; and sister, Karen (Jeff) Bergman of Spicer, MN.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl.
